For James Blake's NY edition of his curated club event CMYK, lighting design was created to compliment sounds of the underground, leaning into both the venue and sonic atmosphere. From a simple singular light encased in a wire cage, to invoke a factory asthetic, to a horizontal linear light backdrop that echoed the industrial beams and raw geometry of the venue itself, the lighting framed the artists within a structural, utilitarian cage of light. Additional robe beam lighting was used to fill the space during more high energy moments.
